1967 Jaguar XKE “Queen Mother”

Just what the world needs right… a 4-door Jaguar XKE Saloon. I have to admit that I always liked a certain brown 4-door Porsche 911 built in the 1960’s by Troutman & Barnes (Los Angeles) for a Texas enthusiast that was featured in Road&Track magazine in the era. Here is my version of an XKE with a set of suicide rear doors, extended wheelbase and a few tweaks of the beltline / window treatment / and roof lofting to make it all work. Only thing non era correct is the lack of wire wheels as I wanted a bit more pizzazz and the reality that the extra weight would require something stronger most likely.

“Queen Mother”? A nickname of sorts for some of the big displacement Ferrari grand tourers and I thought it appropriate given the country of origin of this one — and the fact one could haul their mother or mother-in-law in the backseat and get somewhere rather fast if needed.
