1950 VW Coachcraft of Hollywood

This is the artwork for a personal project that is underway whenever I get that rare free time in my workshop. Basically it is a 1956 VW sedan modified into a Hebmuller cabriolet and as if custom modified by say Coachcraft in Hollywood about 1949 or via Harry Westergard of Sacramento, California.

Basically it will (is) be all handbuilt and most of the panels are all newly created in aluminum to mimic factory steel ones but flow better visually. Hardest part of it has been moving the front cowl structure back 4.5 inches to allow for the new taper on the rear of the front fenders and not making it look like a cartoon.

Color will be a 1949 Cadillac green color and the roof will be a Carson lift-off style.

Wheels are inspired from the Alfa 8C2900B coupe restoration project we won Best of Show with at Pebble Beach in 2008. No mag wheels on this one!
